My Little Man Now

Posted by Picasa

As the day nears....that was then & this is now.

It seems as it was just yesterday that my son was going to his first day of Kindergarten. He looked so happy to get to go be a big boy. In his blue jacket w/ nicely matching blue polo that I was able to pick out. Those were the days my son let me pick out his outfit for the day and never made a peep about it. Now my little man is almost finished w/ 3rd grade. I cant believe it. My little man is just that, a little man. He has his own social network of friends, activities, and what not. He still loves to give me a big hug/kiss in the morning when I drop him off to school (thank heavens). I cant believe how fast time flies. We are always in such a hurry to get our homework finished, get to our Baseball game, google an answer on the computer for our crossword homework assignment (yell, holler, scream = 5 letters w/ an "o" in the middle = shout) which only makes us laugh at the fact we could not figure it out on our own...ugh. Next year is 4th grade....I have a 4th grader almost. I just cant believe it. My heart gets a bit sad when our Baseball season starts to come to an end, the days start to get longer, and our big tests are finished for this school year. I just wish we could capture all the fun times while our children are young. I love everyday I have w/ my kids, and I cant even begin to wonder what it will be like when they are teens. Now look at my guy....how the above photo from Kindergarten and the most recent photo I have of him has changed so much.

The small things that make me happy

I have been teaching group fitness for several years (9+). I have always found enjoyment in educating people on how to live a fit and healthy lifestyle. I discovered a company about 9 years ago while I was at a very large fitness convention in Vancouver BC. I instantly fell in LOVE with their fitness wear from the first second I saw them. I think I walked away with 3 complete outfits from my new found love Lululemon (pants, top, jacket) at that very moment. Since then I have had many "shopping at Lulu" trips that I had to make to Vancouver which is just a few hours and a border crossing away. In the last few years I have been lucky enough that Lululemon opened stores here in the WA area!!! I have to say, Lululemon is one of my favorite thing...if I were Martha Stewart...I would have to say "it's a good thing". In case you didn't get my point, I LOVE LULULEMON more than or dark chocolate! That says a lot!!!

I received the best call yesterday, asking me to teach a few classes for our newly opened and local Lululemon showroom.....can you say holy cow! I was literally jumping up and down after the phone call. I had spoken to the gal who manages the local shop and she and I had talked about me teaching a mommy and me style boot camp class for the shop. I said yes, however my schedule if very very tight. Anyway I have now scheduled two sessions for the local gal's to take them through a fun and challenging Mommy and Me style boot camp class!!! I am one of the only certified Pre/Post Natal Fitness Specialist in this area. I am so honored to be a part of Lululemon...you have NO idea.....I love the philosophy that Lulu caries along with the fact that their clothes kick butt! Anyway, I will keep you all posted of how the classes go, I cant wait!!! I'm so excited to be a part of Lululemon....YEAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baseball and Blankets

Ok, so I am a girl from Idaho. I have seen my fair share of sun which I LOVE. Anyway my son had his first Little League game of the season last night. We were both super excited. That was until after we were at the field for about ohhh 5 minutes.
It was a pretty nice day here in the Seattle area, no rain w/ some sun coming down on us. Just a light jacket kind of day. Until we get to the baseball field where the wind was blowing up from the water. We just happened to be situated on top of what I could guess is the windiest hill in the area (ok at least it felt like it last night).
We get there, all our gear in hand. I had to do the typical mom's run through of the list of gear before we left the house at least 2x, in the car one last time...as well as make sure I had dinner for my daughter and our chairs all packed.
Kids had jackets on and I had my jacket in the car from earlier in the day when I went to work. I think we are all set! We piled out of the car and oh my gosh! The wind was blowing so hard. WE FROZE the entire game.
The funniest thing was, is that the boys playing and the parents complained of the cold. The little sisters that were just playing in the grass in light jackets, some in dresses, others like mine is jean's never once complained of the cold breeze....hummm.
Once the game was finished we ran to the car and there was no chit chatting after the game by any of the adults, which I found refreshing since I had to get kids home for a warm shower, finish our homework, read, and of course a snack for my little ball player who ran his heart off.
Did I mention how great he played....oh my gosh. I know we all think our children are superstars, but my son did SOOOO great at his first game. He had some really great hits. Great running and even scored a run. How great is that. I would post all this great video if only I had my video camera with me...but it was at home in the closet. I don't think it would have even worked as cold as it was anyway. Ohhh how I love baseball. I just love it even more when I am applying sunscreen to my little ones noses because the sun is so strong. Baseball in Seattle is not the same as when I was growing up....guess that is why we have a roof that closes over the top of our Baseball stadium.

Birthday's Birthday's Birthday's

We had three "YES THREE" birthdays all with in two weeks of one another. Holy cake'ola! This year was very different when it came to my son's birthday. First of all Boyce turned 9 this year. Instead of a party he asked to have friends over for a sleep over. Then the next day he wanted his friends and he to all go to the new movie that came out Diary of a Whimpy Kid. So I have to say, I was not looking forward to a house full of boy's (that were not mine) staying the night in my house. However I was surprised at how well they all did. They had all so much fun having Bakugon Battles, playing DS games, the Wii, and of course playing w/ some of the Bionical's. They were so good! Oh yeah, my son doesnt like cake so he asked for pie...Apple & Cherry!

My daughters party was still of "traditional" sort. Of course it had to be very girly....pink & purple w/ all princess stuff. Same as last year hummmm. Anyway this year I opted out of having her party at our house. I decided to take the girls to a ceramic painting place in town. They had a great time. I thought ok, how easy will this be...I will just bake the cake, cupcakes & assemble the goodie bags as well as crate the cupcake toppers...easy right?

The girls were so different this year as opposed to last year, even with several less little princesses running around this year. They all had a great time, but the high pitched screaming in a public place, ugh. I was so embarrassed as I had not planned on that part. My little 5 year old princess doesn't scram so when a few other girls started, I had to put on my mommy voice and remind them "princesses don't scream loudly in a public place"....a few times over. Anyway the two hours with a room full of girls seemed to be so much more stressful that a 24 hour period w/ a group of 9 & 10 year old boy's. Imaging that. Is this what the future holds for me?

All in all our three birthdays were a hit, a learning lesson but a hit! Ohh, did I mention that I received a beautiful yummy cake in the mail this year from my step-mom and dad. My step mom decided to have a cake mailed to me so I didn't have to bake a cake for myself this year (more for the enjoyment of my kiddo's)....how stinking cool was that?!? The cake came from Bake Me A Wish, and it was amazing. All natural ingredients too!!!!!
